Week 502

Positive Post Sunday, October 11, 2026…. Week 502.

Loved By One
Teaching: In a world obsessed with being noticed, approved, followed, and affirmed, Jesus invites us into a different freedom, the freedom of being loved by One rather than liked by many. The crowd’s approval shifts, but God’s love never does.

Story: This question has followed me through different seasons of my life: Do I want to be liked by many, or loved by the One?

This is a challenge in today’s society, where everything pushes us to measure our worth by how others respond with their opinions, their reactions, their praise. But the older I get, the more clearly I see how exhausting that pursuit is. Approval is fragile. Popularity is temporary. And the crowd is never as loyal as we imagine. The crowd’s approval shifts, but God’s love never does. When we anchor our identity in Him, we stop chasing applause and start living with purpose.

God’s love has been steady through every chapter of my journey, through ministry, leadership, retirement, writing, and the quiet moments of reflection that shape my days. His love doesn’t rise and fall with public opinion. It doesn’t depend on performance. It doesn’t shift with trends. It simply remains.

When I listen for God’s voice instead of the crowd’s noise, I find a deeper peace. I remember who I am and whose I am. I remember that heaven is my homeland, not the applause of people. And I remember that the One who loves me is the same One who calls me, guides me, and writes my story.

Being loved by God is enough. More than enough. It’s the only foundation strong enough to build a life on.

Reflection:
Where in your life do you feel the pressure to be liked, noticed, or affirmed by others, and how is God inviting you to release that pressure and rest in His love instead?

If you lived today fully confident that being loved by God is enough, what fear, habit, or expectation would lose its power over you?
