Week 74
Positive post Sunday, July 15, 2018- Week 74.
You’ve likely heard the biblical saying in John, Chapter 8, “Let the one among you who is guiltless be the first to throw a stone at her.” If not, look it up. I don’t know about others, but I’m certainly not worthy of throwing any stones. Like all human beings, I am imperfect. Rather than focus on judging others and stoning them for their imperfections, I try to focus on improving myself and repenting for my own shortcomings, sometimes more successfully than other times. Did I mention I’m human!
None of us have perfect lives. We all face, and sometimes create, challenges and obstacles in our lives. Might I suggest that we embrace the challenges and obstacles God offers us throughout or lives and accept them as opportunities to learn and grow. They are all part of “His” plan for us, not ours. Our ability to learn from and manage through them will define us and establish our true character, which in turn will determine our ultimate fate. As C.S. Lewis notes, “Hardships often prepare ordinary people for an extraordinary destiny.” One beauty of human life is that we don’t have to “go it alone”, we have each other for support and most importantly, with faith and prayer, we have the good Lord on our side. I pray for God’s grace and guidance, and appreciate and welcome the support from family and friends as I continue to grow in faith and service to others.
