Week 476

Positive Post Sunday, April 12, 2026…. Week 476. A few weeks ago, I was reminded, quite literally, what it means to walk with Jesus. Around our house we have those mini-Jesus figurines, the kind that quietly sit on shelves or windowsills like tiny reminders of grace. Well, one morning our grandson Benjamin decided Jesus needed a change of scenery. So, he slipped a mini‑Jesus into his mom’s shoe before she went out for her walk.

A few minutes later while walking, she felt something hard in her shoe. So, she took her shoe off to see what it was, and there He was, Jesus, right at her feet. She laughed and said, “I actually did walk with Jesus today!” And then, instead of putting Him back on the shelf, she carried Him with her for the rest of her walk.

That one moment sparked a new family tradition. Now we take turns placing the mini‑Jesus somewhere unexpected, a gentle nudge to remember that we’re called to walk with Him every day, not just in prayer or at church, but in the ordinary rhythms of life.

Benjamin, in his bold little way, has been talking about Jesus at school too. He shared with us that two kids in his class don’t believe in God, so he told them they need Jesus in their heart. He said it so simply, so confidently, like a preacher in training. His faith isn’t complicated. It’s just real.

And maybe that’s the reminder for all of us. Jesus isn’t meant to stay on a shelf. He isn’t a decoration or a distant idea. He is Someone we carry with us, into our homes, our work, our conversations, our worries, our joys, and yes, even into our shoes if that’s what it takes to get our attention.

He truly is with us everywhere we go. Sometimes it takes a child to show us what we’ve forgotten.

How do you carry Jesus with you as you walk through your daily life?

What family traditions have you created to strengthen your faith?
