Week 465

Positive Post Sunday, January 25, 2026…. Week 465.  I share this reflection on anger not only for myself, but for all of us who wrestle with it. Anger, and the patience it demands, remains a lifelong effort where God continues to shape our hearts.

Anger, when left unchecked, becomes fertile ground for sin to take root. If you do not master your anger, it will master you. However, anger itself is not the enemy; it’s the invitation it extends to destructive choices that must be resisted. Spiritual vigilance is essential. To spiritually manage anger is to pause, pray, and surrender it to God before it becomes action. Like a gatekeeper of the soul, we must recognize when anger arises and choose humility, forgiveness, and self-control, allowing grace to master us instead of wrath.

Below are a few Bible verses that remind us that although the devil is always tempting us, we can choose kindness, compassion and forgiveness over sin.

Ephesians 4: 26-27, “Be angry but do not sin; do not let the sun set on your anger, and do not leave room for the devil.”

Ephesians 4:32 “Be kind to one another, compassionate, forgiving one another as God has forgiven you in Christ.”

How do you manage your anger, preventing it from turning into sin?

How do you leverage spiritual vigilance to make sure the sun doesn’t set on your anger, leaving no room for the devil?
