Week 448

Positive Post Sunday, September 28, 2025…. Week 448.  Forgiveness is not merely a moral gesture, it’s a spiritual imperative that unlocks healing, freedom, and divine grace. Scripture speaks clearly: “All bitterness, fury, anger, shouting, and reviling must be removed from you, along with all malice. Be kind to one another, compassionate, forgiving one another as God has forgiven you in Christ (Ephesians 4:31-32). Yet forgiveness is rarely easy. It takes courage to release the hurt, humility to let go of pride, and faith to trust that grace can mend what bitterness and resentment cannot.

Even in the Lord’s Prayer, Jesus anchors forgiveness at the heart of our relationship with God: “Forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.” These words are not just a plea; they’re a daily invitation to live in mercy. Jesus taught that our own forgiveness is intertwined with our willingness to forgive others (Matthew 6:14–15), revealing that grace flows both ways. In forgiving, we echo the love that first forgave us, and in doing so, we become vessels of God’s redemptive power. Forgiveness may feel like a cross to bear, but it leads us to resurrection.

As you ask God for forgiveness, do you also seek to offer forgiveness to those who have wronged you?

Can you think of someone you have not had the courage, humility or faith to forgive? Forgive them!!
