Week 433
Positive Post Sunday, June 15, 2025…. Week 433. Happy Father’s Day to all the fathers in my life, those still with us and those who have gone before. Today I want to give special thanks to my #2 Father, Kenneth Frederick Rendler. I love you, Dad!
I’m so deeply grateful for the time you spent with me growing up. I especially remember and appreciate you coaching me through Tee Ball and Little League (see the attached photos!). You taught me lessons that reached far beyond the field. You and mom made countless sacrifices to give me a childhood most kids can only dream of. Your love, for me and for my family, has never wavered, only grown. It has carried through every chapter of my life and still does today.
They say you can’t choose your parents, but if I could, I’d choose you again every time. Unlike some who wish for a different past, I consider myself incredibly blessed. At 64 years old, a father to five and grandfather to twelve, I can’t thank God enough for the gift of both you and mom. You’ve taught me so much about life, love, and what it means to serve with a faithful heart.
Now, you might wonder why I call you my “#2 Father.” The answer is simple: my earthly father is only second to God, my Father in Heaven. I’ve been so richly blessed by two faithful servants of our Lord who taught me this, you and mom! When I think of the strength of my faith, I’m reminded of the song, “The Truth” by Megan Woods. Here’s the link to her video: https://video.search.yahoo.com/search/video?fr=mcafee&p=Megan-woods-the-truth&type=E211US714G0#id=1&vid=947942f7028528db6f37f136f81f390e&action=click
The bridge says it all:
“I know who I am
‘Cause I know who You are
And I hold Your truth inside of my heart
I know the lies are always gonna try and find me
But I’ve never been so sure
So today, I also say Happy Father’s Day to my Lord. Each evening, I honor You with the prayer You taught us:
“Our Father, who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy name.
Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread;
and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.”
How do you honor your father here on earth?
How do you honor your Father in heaven?
