Week 430
Positive Post Sunday, May 25, 2025…. Week 430. Michele and I just finished watching season 4 of The Chosen and we are looking forward to watching season 5 which is set to start streaming on June 15, 2025. Season 5, titled The Chosen: Last Supper, follows Jesus’ final days, leading up to His betrayal and crucifixion.
Like all 3 previous seasons of The Chosen, season 4 was captivating and spiritually fulfilling. It was packed with powerful moments that deepened the emotional and spiritual journey of Jesus and His followers. Here are some of the highlights that deepened my faith:
Lazarus’ Resurrection: One of the most moving scenes, where Jesus calls Lazarus out of the grave, demonstrating His power over death.
The Transfiguration: A breathtaking moment where Jesus is revealed in divine glory, leaving His disciples in awe.
Growing Opposition: Religious leaders and Roman authorities intensify their resistance against Jesus, setting the stage for the events to come.
John the Baptist’s Fate: A heartbreaking moment as Jesus envisions John the Baptist, foreshadowing his tragic end.
Simon Becomes Peter: Jesus renames Simon as “Peter,” marking a pivotal moment in his journey of faith.
Preparation for the Triumphal Entry: The disciples begin to grasp the significance of Jesus’ mission as they prepare for His entry into Jerusalem.
Season 4 was a season filled with tension, miracles, and deep emotional moments. I found Episode 5 most impactful. Jesus makes a powerful statement about how humans fear bad news so deeply that they become deaf to the truth. This moment occurs as He prepares His disciples for the growing opposition they will face. He emphasizes that fear can cloud judgment, making people resistant to hearing what they need to hear. A good reminder to us all that fear can lead people to ignore warnings, reject wisdom, or even turn away from faith. Jesus encourages His followers to trust in God’s plan rather than be consumed by fear.
