Week 426
Positive Post Sunday, April 27, 2025…. Week 426. Have you ever listened to a song with a video and felt your entire life play out before your eyes? That profound experience happened to me when I watched Nichole Nordeman’s “Slow Down” (watch here).
What began as a simple moment of listening and watching transformed into an emotional journey, one that brought tears to my eyes and stirred my soul. At this stage of my life, I often find myself reflecting on the countless phases I have navigated over the years; including the laughter, the struggles, the triumphs, and the fleeting moments that define who we are.
This song’s thoughtful lyrics and the video’s family images resonated deeply, evoking memories of my early parenting years. It felt as if I was watching my own life’s story unfold, a poignant reminder of how time truly does fly. Those seemingly endless days with little ones, filled with chaos and joy, have now become cherished milestones etched in my memory. Though I wish I could slow down time or revisit those precious moments with my own children, I know life has a way of moving us forward.
Through it all, I’ve learned the importance of anchoring my life in Faith, Family, and Fitness, three pillars that guide me through every phase. Faith reminds me to embrace each day with gratitude, trusting that God’s plan is unfolding as it should. Family remains the heart of my journey, from parenting to now cherishing grandparenthood, a role that fills my days with joy and love. Fitness, both physical and emotional, equips me with the strength to continue showing up for the people I love and savoring the experiences that bring us together.
Watching “Slow Down” was a beautiful nudge to hold tight to the present while honoring the past. It reminded me that life’s journey isn’t just about looking back or longing for what’s ahead, it’s about embracing every phase of life with intention and love. I find comfort knowing that as we grow, we carry with us the lessons, memories, and connections that make each moment meaningful.
While I treasure the memories of raising my kids, I also embrace the new adventures of life, creating lasting moments with our grandkids and looking forward to the joys yet to come. Life is precious, and through Faith, Family, and Fitness, I find strength, gratitude, and purpose to keep moving forward, savoring every step of the way.
