Week 418
Positive Post Sunday, March 2, 2025…. Week 418. In Positive Post Sunday, February 9, 2025…. Week 415, I wrote about one of my favorite writings on the influence we have on our children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. I encouraged all parents, grandparents great grandparents and guardians to read, “When You Thought I Wasn’t Looking.”, a message that reminds us that our children are watching every action we take.
In that PPS I noted, “Although the verses below are geared toward young children, I’d like to someday write a version for older children who, like me and my children, continue to watch and learn from their parents and grandparents as they age with grace and dignity.” Well, today is that day, and I dedicate this PPS to my parents Dana and Ken Rendler. Mom and dad, when you thought I wasn’t looking I was and still do to this day. I am so blessed to have parents who continue to be role models for our family as they age with grace, dignity, faith and love of family.
Here’s a list inspired by “When You Thought I Wasn’t Looking,” but from the perspective of adult children like me observing our elderly parents with gratitude and pride:

Aging with dignity and pride is not easy, especially navigating through the many physical and mental challenges that are often experienced as we move through the latter years of our lives. Those like my parents, who are full of grace, have deep faith, are generous beyond their means and love their families unconditionally, are amazing and inspirational role models for all of us as we too watch the sand in our hour glasses continue to drop.
May our elderly continue to be blessed with grace, strength, and peace. They hold a wealth of wisdom and love that enriches our lives every day.
