Week 41

Positive post Sunday November, 26, 2017- Week 41.

As we transition from Thanksgiving to the Christmas season, I’m reflecting on the many things I’m thankful for in my life. As with many of you I’m sure, faith, family, friends, health, freedom are at the top of my list.

Another thing I am thankful for is the opportunity I have had to serve others. I have been blessed to serve in the community in so many ways over the years (Eucharistic Minister at church, Family Services, Special Olympics, Redlands Bicycle Classic, Inland Empire Economic Partnership, Optimist Club, Leukemia and Lymphoma Society etc). I have grown both personally and professionally from each of these experiences and believe that these opportunities have truly shaped who I am today.

Those that know me well, noticed that I left one organization out, Goodwill, which is the focus of this Positive Post Sunday. I am privileged to serve on the Board of Goodwill Southern California. As I originally did, many of you may only see the surface of Goodwill, the place where you bring old clothes and goods. I’m confident that, if you take the time to go to goodwillsocal.org and watch a few of the uplifting “Good Videos” and read a few of the “Good Stories”, you will quickly realize that Goodwill is an amazing organization that is truly transforming lives through the power of work. I have personally met many of those shown in the videos and stories, and can assure you their experiences at Goodwill have changed their lives in a positive and deeply meaningful way! So, the next time you drop off those old clothes, step inside the retail store and meet someone whose life has been transformed. Please keep the wonderful leaders and employees at Goodwill in your thoughts and prayers this holiday season.
