Week 407
Positive Post Sunday, December 15, 2024…. Week 407. As I was getting ready to workout a few days ago, I looked down and saw the cross I have been wearing for several years. In addition to reflecting on how blessed I am that our Lord Jesus died on the cross for me opening the gates to heaven, I remembered that there was a Bible verse written on it, but I couldn’t recall which one. The verse is Philippians 4:13 – “I have the strength for everything through him who empowers me.”, or as written on the cross, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Once again, the good Lord has spoken to me. What a timely reminder that, although I get my physical strength from working out (pumping iron as Benny would say), I get my deepest strength from working out my heart and soul. Fitness is not just physical and mental; it is also spiritual.
What a beautiful reflection I experienced. Philippians 4:13 is indeed a powerful reminder of where our true strength comes from. We can all find inspiration and empowerment through this verse, both in our physical workouts and in nurturing our heart and soul.
The connection between physical and spiritual fitness is profound. While working out can strengthen our bodies, spiritual practices, such as prayer, meditation, and reflecting on scripture can fortify our inner beings. Embracing both aspects leads to a more holistic and balanced approach to well-being.
This experience speaks volumes about the importance of integrating faith into everyday activities, and how it can provide deeper motivation and purpose. I will now look at my physical workouts differently, understanding that they can also be a part of my spiritual journey!
What cross are you carrying, and how do you seek God’s guidance?
Where do you get your strength from?
