Week 403
Positive Post Sunday, November 17, 2024…. Week 403. As many of you know, I’m blessed to be a 2-time survivor of open-heart surgery. I have written a few Positive Posts on my experiences (See Positive post Sunday, October 3, 2021…. Week 241, Positive post Sunday, February 25, 2024…. (written by my daughters) Week 365 and Positive post Sunday, March 3, 2024…. Week 366). Through the grace of God, so many prayers, and the care from medical professionals, I’m grateful to still be here and write this PPS.
I have learned so much from my life-threatening experiences which have deepened my faith and strengthened my passion to serve. Life is short, and as my hourglass continues to empty (See last week’s PPS), I am driven with a sense of urgency to Honor God through service to others. Although I will be joyous when our good Lord calls me home, I will cherish every day He keeps me here and continue to serve others in His name.
I’m grateful beyond words for the medical professionals who saved my life, and ALL those who supported and prayed for me, and there are many. These experiences have also reminded me of how fragile life is and how important it is to give back and pay it forward, especially while we are blessed to still be here to do so.
Through much prayer and in recognition of all those who have supported me, I have accepted the opportunity to give back to an organization that is near and dear to my heart, literally!! I’m helping the American Heart Association (AHA) continue to save lives by raising funds to create awareness on heart disease. Despite many advances, cardiovascular disease is still the No.1 killer worldwide with strokes ranking second. The AHA has been fighting heart disease and strokes for 100 years, saving lives like mine and helping families through training, education, research, nutrition support and quality care advocacy.
I would be grateful if you, my Facebook family and friends, found it in your hearts to join me in donating to the AHA (my deep appreciation to those who have already donated). Our contributions will help shape the health of our communities, as well as support the innovative research and bold initiatives of the AHA that save and improve lives.
Here’s the direct link to make a donation on my behalf and as part of my team: https://www2.heart.org/site/TR/HeartBall/WSA-WesternStatesAffiliate?px=28726241&pg=personal&fr_id=11457 .
Thank you to those of you who are able to help me recognize the many individuals who saved my life by donating. I don’t take my life for granted. I feel truly blessed to be here, continuing writing my PPS each week!
My campaign goes until December 4th. Thank you for your consideration.
Will you please help this 2-time open-heart surgery survivor save more lives?
How have the challenges in your life strengthened your faith and desire to serve?
