Week 395
Positive post Sunday, September 22, 2024…. Week 395.
Life has a way of turning our greatest challenges into our most profound passions. This transformation often happens when we least expect it, and as I like to say, on God’s time, and it can lead to some of the most fulfilling experiences of our lives. For me, writing was one such challenge that evolved into a deep passion, especially writing about Faith, Family and Fitness. Writing did not come naturally to me. In school, it was a constant battle. I remember countless nights when my mom would stay up late, helping me craft essays and papers, and especially correcting my grammar and spelling (Thank God for electronic spelling and grammar checking software!). The frustration was palpable, and the process felt like an insurmountable hurdle. I’m sure my mom wondered if I was ever going to make it through school. I often tried her patience, but she remained dedicated and committed to helping me improve. Although I’m sure she had her doubts, she believed in my potential even though I struggled so much, and for that I will be forever grateful.
As time went on, something began to shift. The more I wrote, the more I started to see the beauty in the process. Writing became less about the struggle and more about the expression. It was a way to convey my thoughts, emotions, and beliefs. The turning point came when I started writing about topics that truly mattered to me, especially Faith, Family and Fitness. My passion for writing had a very modest beginning back on February 17, 2017, when I started my Positive Post Sundays with the simple statement, “I’m starting a Sunday tradition of posting a positive message each week” and a quote by Walt Disney, “If you believe in something, believe in it all the way”. And here I am on Sunday, September 22, 2024, writing my 395th PPS with God as my coach!
Writing about faith and spirituality on Sundays has since become a ritual. It’s my time for reflection and sharing positive messages with others. This practice has not only deepened my own faith but also connected me with a community of like-minded individuals. The challenge that once seemed so daunting has transformed into a source of joy and fulfillment.
Looking back, I realize that the struggle was an essential part of the journey. It taught me resilience, patience, and the importance of perseverance. The challenges I faced in writing helped shape my voice and style. They pushed me to explore new ideas and perspectives, ultimately leading to a passion that I now cherish deeply.
To anyone facing a similar challenge, I offer this encouragement: Embrace the struggle. It may be difficult now, but it has the potential to become one of your greatest passions. Keep pushing forward, and don’t be afraid to seek help and support along the way. Sometimes, the very things that challenge us the most are the ones that bring the greatest rewards and joy.
In the end, our greatest challenges can indeed become our biggest passions. They shape us, mold us, and lead us to discover parts of ourselves we never knew existed. For me, writing was that challenge, and it has become a lifelong passion that I am grateful for every day.
What is your greatest challenge and how will you turn it into your greatest passion?
Who has been your strongest supporter throughout your life journey helping you overcome challenges, creating passion, and bringing meaning to your life. How have you recognized them and all those who have stood by you?
