Week 355
Positive post Sunday, December 17, 2023- Week 355.
You have likely heard the saying, “Time doesn’t stop for anyone”, or “Time is of the essence”, or one of my favorites, a quote from Jim Rohn, “Time is more a value than money, you can get more money, but you cannot get more time”. There is much written about the value, importance, and scarcity of time, including my Positive post Sunday, November 7, 2021…. Week 246, where I write about having an extra hour on daylight saving day to give thanks to the Lord!
With all the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, I felt compelled to write about time once again. In preparation for the holidays, most of our time is spent rushing to holiday parties and school events, frantically finishing our last-minute shopping and preparing all our meals. I encourage us all to pause this Sunday morning and give thought to how we are spending our precious time this holiday season, reflecting on our many blessings and appreciating what we are really preparing for and celebrating, the coming of our savior, Jesus.
My most valuable and intimate time during the holidays is the time I spend giving thanks to our Lord at Mass, with family and friends and in private prayer. Don’t forget to carve out time during these busy days, to give thanks to God for sending his only son Jesus down to earth so that by his cross and resurrection, those of us who believe in him might not perish but might have eternal life (from John 3:16). Jesus is the reason for the season!
Are you living a life that places more value on time than on money?
How are you spending your time this holiday season preparing for the coming of our savior, Jesus?
