Week 335
Positive post Sunday, July 30, 2023- Week 335.
Music must be in the air. I listened to another song this week that reminded me how blessed I am. The song is “Thank God I do” by Lauren Daigle. Here are my favorite lyrics in the song: “I don’t know who I’d be if I didn’t know you. I’d probably fall off the edge. You’re my safe place, my hideaway, you’re my anchor, my saving grace, you’re my constant, my steadiness, you’re my shelter, my oxygen. I don’t know who I’d be if I didn’t know you, Thank God, I do.”
,
According to an article by Stephanie Martin, the song was written during the pandemic and Daigle noted that she realized, “God puts very specific people in your life for a very specific reason. And I needed the people in my life at that time around me to keep my head above the water.” She also wanted to praise the Lord for the joy of being in a relationship with him.
This song reminds me about the importance of my relationship with Jesus because I don’t know who I’d be if I didn’t know Him. He’s also my safe place, hideaway, anchor, constant, steadiness, shelter, oxygen, and most importantly, He’s my source of grace and my savior.
After years of Catholic schools, going to Mass each week for virtually all my life, reading the bible from cover to cover a few years back and most recently watching all the episodes of The Chosen, learning about our Lord has been a lifelong journey. Jesus has had a profound influence in my life. I feel He has been right by my side and my inspiration through all the celebrations and challenges I have experienced throughout my life. I have grown to love our Lord even more deeply at this stage in my life. I’m grateful for His sacrifice that opened the gates of Heaven for us, I look forward to continuing to humbly serve in His name and I’m excited to see what He has planned for me in this next phase of my life.
Who in your life do you thank God for, someone in your life who prevents you from falling off the edge?
