Week 333
Positive post Sunday, July 16, 2023- Week 333.
In my early and informative years, I was blessed to benefit from the foundation of faith my parents provided. Through their sacrifices, I was fortunate to attend Catholic schools from 1st grade through high school.
As a lifelong Catholic, I have been blessed with a journey deep in faith that has included receiving, and experiencing, 5 of the 7 sacraments (Baptism, Confession, Holy Communion, Confirmation and Marriage). The only 2 sacraments I have not experienced are Holy Orders and the Anointing of the Sick. Through the grace of God, perhaps someday I will be blessed to achieve the third level of the Sacrament of Holy Orders, the diaconate (deacons assist priests and bishops with proclaiming the Gospel, including at Masses, and performing baptisms). Although I’ve had a few close calls, with God’s will, I’ll look forward to receiving the Anointing of the Sick later in life just before He calls me home! Here’s an informative article on the seven sacraments of the Catholic church: The Seven Sacraments of the Catholic Church (learnreligions.com).
As I’ve grown in faith throughout my life, and received God’s graces through the sacraments, I find myself continuing to seek a deeper relationship with our creator and Lord, strengthening how I live my faith. I can’t think of a better way to accomplish this than to turn to the Bible.
As a lifelong Catholic, I’ve been blessed to learn and experience many of the lessons in the Bible and I’ve tried to live a life worthy of the guidance found in many of the verses. Now, later in my life, with many life experiences behind me and an unwavering faith, I’m committing to reread the Bible from cover to cover. Perhaps, with a more mature and experienced lens, I’ll expand my knowledge, strengthen my faith and deepen my relationship with our Lord.
How are you living the life of a faithful servant to our Lord?
What are you doing to deepen your relationship with our Lord?
