Week 329

Positive post Sunday, June 18, 2023- Week 329.

Today is a very special day for 2 reasons, it’s Father’s Day and Michele and my 40th Anniversary.

Let me begin by wishing my Heavenly Father a Happy Father’s Day.  Dear Lord, as one of your humble disciples, I am deeply grateful for your unconditional love and your selfless sacrifice on the cross.  By giving up your human life, you have opened the gates of Heaven to all those who accept you as their savior.  I will honor you by continuing to follow the plan you have for my life until you call me home.

I’m also grateful that the good Lord blessed me with an amazing father here on earth.  My father, Ken Rendler, has set the foundation on which I live my life.  His faith, love of family and work ethic are the pillars of my life.  I am grateful for the many sacrifices he, along with my mom, has made to support me throughout my life, often putting my needs ahead of his own.  A blessing of generosity and service that I have tried to emulate with my 5 wonderful children and 12 precious and energetic grandchildren, all of whom I love very much.

By the grace of God, I am also deeply blessed and grateful to be able to continue to spend time with my father who has been a wonderful role model throughout my life, including being a faithful husband for the past 67 years.  Happy Father’s Day dad “Floyd”, I love you!

Speaking of faithful husbands, after meeting in a psychology class at Glendale Community College, 40 years ago today I said, “I do” to the love of my life Michele Lomen Rendler.  You remember those vows, “I take you to be my wife, to have and behold from this day on, for better or for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish; until death do us part.”  Well, over the past 40 years I have certainly tested Michele on all of our vows.  I’ve been, worse, poor and sick, and my faith filled, patient and loving wife has put up with me through it all.  Only one left, until death do us part, which with the grace of God will be well down the road.

Happy Anniversary Michele!  My love, respect and appreciation for you has grown deeper since the day we said, “I do”!  I thank God every day for sending me down my very own angel to share my life with here on earth.  I cherish every day we have together, and with our faith as our foundation, I look forward to continuing to serve our Lord, our family and our community until He calls us home.  I love you more than you will ever know!
