Week 316
Positive post Sunday, March 19, 2023- Week 316.
I’m a true believer that the good Lord listens and speaks to us all the time. With His grace, and with an open heart and mind, we can hear, see and feel His guidance and influence in our daily lives.
Here’s a subtle yet powerful example. Last week I wrote about my quest for patience during Lent, a virtue I “aspire to acquire”. Earlier this week, as I was driving and listening to KSGN family friendly radio and thinking about ways I can reduce stress by introducing more patience into my daily life, the song “I’m so blessed” by Cain began to play. Some might see this as a coincidence, but I see it as yet another example of how God speaks to us during our daily lives.
I encourage you to listen to the song, but for those that have not, let me share the connection with my Lenten journey. As I was listening to the song, I heard the words, “Trouble knocking at my door today, I ain’t gonna let it in, And worry wanna steal my joy away, But I ain’t gonna let it win”. My first thought was that the trouble that frequently knocks at my door is my impatience, and that I often let it steel my joy away. And then the message from the good Lord came to me in the words that followed, “Cause on my best day, I’m a child of God, On my worst day, I’m a child of God, Oh, every day is a good day”. A reminder that even on our worst day, God still loves us, which makes every day a great day, regardless of the demons we face.
It’s amazing, or as I see it an act of God, when one song, listened to at the right time, can have a deep and meaningful impact on our lives. Thank you, Lord for listening to me and showing me the path to patience. “If I got you Lord, I’m so blessed” (another line from the song)!
How do you handle trouble when it’s knocking at your door?
How do you act like a “Child of God” on your worst days?
