Week 281

Positive post Sunday, July 10, 2022- Week 281.

You have likely heard the saying, “The cart before the horse”, an idiom or proverb used to suggest that when something is done contrary to the natural or normally effective sequence of events, there can be consequences. This reminded me of other idioms, or expressions, that highlight the value and importance of doing things in the proper sequence. A few of my favorites, “Before you speak – Listen” and “Before you spend – earn”, are noted in the “Six ethics of life” list below. Perhaps if we all took the time to act on these in the right sequence our communications would be more informed and thoughtful, and our lives would be more fulfilling.

Speaking of lives (or life), made me think about the many life lessons I have experienced over the years. Some I have learned from and made the necessary adjustments and others, as I’m certain my family and coworkers will attest, are still a work in progress for me. Below are links to 3 lists of life lessons that I researched. I’ve noted a few from each list that resonated with me, either because I believe in them and/or I need to work on them! As you might expect, there are duplicates so I didn’t list the common ones under each list. I encourage you to review one of the lists (or all 3 if you are ambitious) and identify a few lessons that you will commit to work on.
