Week 258
Positive post Sunday, January 30, 2022- Week 258.
You’ve likely heard someone say, “Life is too short”. I’m convinced that the older we get the shorter the days, weeks, months and years get. Time seems to speed up as we age. One thing is certain, time does not stop for anyone.
The good news is, no matter how old we get, we are never too old to learn something new, take on a new adventure or set and achieve a new goal. One of my favorite sayings is, “When you stop learning, you stop living”. Think about it, regardless of our age, we all have the opportunity to learn many new things every day. The only difference is that when we get old, we also forget many things every day, but I’ll save that for a future PPS (if I remember)
.
On a serious note, I believe that it’s not just WHAT we learn every day that’s important, but what we DO with what we learn. In other words, do we act on what we learn and use the time we have wisely? Do we seek to learn things that make us better people, help us support others and bring us closer to God? Although we can’t turn back time to fix all the blemishes in our lives, we can certainly make the most of the time we have now and ahead of us to serve our Lord by serving others.
One thing I’ve learned is that time is precious and who we spend our limited time with matters. There comes a time in our lives (and I’m there) where we get tired of all the drama and recognize that we need to be more thoughtful about who we spend time with. I’m so blessed to have a large family and fortunate to spend most of my time with them. I also try to surround myself with friends who, like my family, make me a better person, strengthen my faith, help me learn and keep me young.
Many of you reading this PPS are my family and friends who have helped me stay grounded in my faith, get back up when I’ve fallen, and continue to grow. Spending time with you is spending my time wisely. I have and continue to learn so much from each of you. I’m grateful for you and always keep you in my prayers.
We all have opportunities to learn each day, how do you act on what you learn?
Although you can’t turn back time, are you living a life of faith now?
Are you spending your limited time with people that make you better and help you grow?
