Week 199
Positive post Sunday, December 13, 2020- Week 199.
This is week 3 of Advent and Christmas is just around the corner. In keeping with my Advent theme, I decided to share another one of my readings from the Loyola Press Advent A to Z series. One that has significant meaning to me and my family as we continue to prepare for the coming of our Lord.
This week’s Loyola Press readings focused on letters J through N and when I got to yesterday’s reading (the letter N), I knew exactly what I was going to write about today. N is for Nativity, and the Nativity is the heart of the Christmas season. It’s the true reason we prepare and celebrate Christmas each year. The Nativity represents, family, birth, hope, faith, humbleness, respect, adoration, and the list goes on. When we get our Christmas decorations out each year, I always pause when we set up the Nativity scenes and reground myself on what Christmas is all about.
We are so blessed to have such an important reminder of the sacrifices made so that we, as sinful human beings, have the opportunity to be reunited with the good Lord someday. John 14:6 says it best, “Jesus said: I am the way, I am Truth and life. No one can come to the Father except through me.”
How does the Nativity play a role in your life?
Do you proudly and prominently display a Nativity scene as part of your Christmas decorations?
