Week 160

Positive post Sunday, March 15, 2020- Week 160.

As we continue in the Lenten season, we are all faced with a major challenge.  No, I don’t mean trying to find toilet paper or suffering withdrawals from sporting events being cancelled.  Humor often relieves tension, and it’s been said that laughter is the best medicine and helps us cope, but we are truly facing a worldwide pandemic and serious health risk, the coronavirus (COVID-19),

Here are a few good sources to help prevent, Identify and address COVID-19:

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-nCoV/index.html

World Health Organization: https://www.who.int/emergencies/diseases/novel-coronavirus-2019

Rather than write about social media hysteria, opportunists seeking to profit or the disruption in our daily lives created by this epidemic, I choose to write about kindness and faith.  I have seen the best and worst in human behavior over the past few weeks.  Times of crisis clearly bring out a person’s true character.  Good people with strong faiths look for opportunities to help others and spread kindness, recognizing this is God’s will that we serve others.

Times of crisis are also opportunities to strengthen our families and faith.  While we’re spending more time at home due to social distancing, schools being closed, events being postponed and churches canceling services, spend quality time with your family and attend Mass online or through TV.  As the proverb says, when there’s a will there’s a way.  If you have the will to spread kindness, God has the way.

How are you being Christlike during this challenging time?

Are you looking for opportunities to spread kindness or profit from this worldwide crisis?

Are you taking this epidemic seriously and protecting your family, even if you have not yet been directly impacted?
