Week 142
Positive post Sunday, November 3, 2019- Week 142.
Did you remember to set your clocks back today, “Fall Back”? When fall (or autumn) arrives and we conclude daylight savings time, I’m always reminded of the value and importance of time.
Last Sunday I wrote about time and that although we think we are all in charge of our lives and timing, we are on God’s schedule not our own. Keeping with the theme of time, we all have a golden opportunity to put an extra precious hour of time to good use this morning. William Penn said, “Time is what we want most but what we use worst”. Prove Penn wrong today and take advantage of your extra hour and use it wisely.
Life is short and increasingly busy. We have all said or heard someone say, “I wish I had another hour” or “If I only had more time to let him/her know how much I loved them”. We always seem to be able to make time to attend a loved one’s funeral, but do we make time to be with them before they leave us? Don’t wait to let someone know how much you love them, there is no perfect time and remember, we are on God’s schedule not our own. While we still have daylight savings time, start a tradition of using your extra hour to do a good deed like checking in on a loved one, rather than just sleeping in for another hour.
What will you do with that precious extra hour you have this morning? Will you give thanks to God, say a prayer for someone in need or call a loved one?
