Week 327

Positive post Sunday, June 4, 2023- Week 327.

I’ve been thinking a lot about prayer over the past few weeks.  Although God knows that I pray daily, is the quality and depth of my prayer worthy of His grace?  My prayers include formal prayers like the rosary and The Lord’s Prayer, and prayers of thanks, forgiveness and guidance I say at church each week.

Attending Sunday Mass and giving our Lord thanks is a foundational part of my faith, but what about the rest of the week?  For many, it appears that praying and serving our Lord ends when walking out of church after Mass.  I believe that Mass is where we get spiritual nourishment that should guide us throughout the week, when we have the greatest opportunity to bring others closer to God at home, in our communities and at work.

In addition to the prayers in church, I’ve found my most reflective and meaningful prayer to be the conversations I have with our savior throughout each day.  Beginning with giving thanks each morning for another day to serve our Lord, continuing with seeking guidance for the challenges I face throughout the day and recognizing God’s work all around me and ending with a reflection for the day and the blessings I received.  I also pray Our Daily Family Prayer I wrote for my family (see prayer below).
