Week 305

Positive post Sunday, January 1, 2023- Week 305.

Happy New Year!  Like most people, you may have already made a New Year’s resolution or are considering one.  You know, resolutions like losing weight, going to the gym, getting organized and the list goes on.  The challenge many of us face each year is making realistic and achievable resolutions and sticking with them.

Rather than making a “New Year’s” resolution with a long list of things I want to accomplish or improve during the year, which would be overwhelming and likely unsustainable, I choose to focus on deepening my faith and creating goodwill through continuous improvement.  There is nothing magical about a calendar year, so I created the “Resolution for goodwill” below, a timeless lifelong commitment, an aspiration for a life of faith and goodwill.

Resolution for goodwill

  • Give thanks to the Lord for all my blessings
  • Listen to the Lord with an open heart and follow His plan
  • Bring my family together and closer to God as we are meant to be
  • Pray for peace, kindness and understanding
  • Strengthen physical and mental health
  • Act on opportunities to serve those in need
  • Ask for forgiveness and forgive others
  • Love the Lord, my family and neighbors

Here are a few other resolutions from Crosswalk.com

  • Stay connected with the local faith community
  • Remain flexible and open to what God is doing
  • Slow down; take time to rest
  • Speak the life of the Gospel into the chaos of the world
  • Love your neighbors

What is your resolution for goodwill and continuous improvement?

What steps will you take to make your resolution sustainable?
