Week 269
Positive post Sunday, April 17, 2022- Week 269.
While out on our weekly “bagel ride” last Saturday, a few of the boys and I came across an Easter bunny standing on one of the corners of a street on our route (we would have missed him if Lance hadn’t suggested we bypass the Euro loop climb!). Since Byron Pettibone still believes in the Easter bunny, he asked us to stop so he could let him know what he wanted in his Easter basket this year, a new road bike. We took the picture below after Byron’s visit.
On the surface, this appeared to be just a fun experience which we all bantered back and forth about for a few days. But, on a serious note, as I reflected on the ride that day, I realized that we would usually ride up the Euro loop climb but chose to bypass it that day. Was this by chance or was it a subtle reminder from the good Lord that Holy Week was beginning, and Easter was just around the corner. It made me think “beyond the bunny” and deeper into the significance of Holy Week and Easter. I’m grateful for the sacrifices Jesus made that opened the gates of Heaven for all of us to have the opportunity to earn a place alongside the Lord in everlasting life.
The Lord has risen, Alleluia!
What subtle messages have you received from God in your everyday life? How have you responded?
How do you think “beyond the bunny” and seek a deeper understanding of your life experiences?
