Week 265
Positive post Sunday, March 20, 2022- Week 265.
BREAKING NEWS, #12 has arrived!!! Our 12th grandchild, Amelia Jo Wilson was born ahead of schedule this past Wednesday, March 16th.
Although we have only a small fraction of the grandchildren (and great grandchildren!) our dear friends Kathy Sullivan and Harry Sullivan Sullivan are blessed with, with #12, Michele and I are now blessed with our first dozen. Our youngest daughter Kristy and our son in law Matt are now the proud parents of their first child.
With 11 healthy and energetic grandchildren ranging from ages 2 to 17, one might think that #12 is just one more added to the list. Let me assure you that #12 is just as special as #s 1 through 11, as well #s 13, 14, 15….! As any grandparent will tell you, each and every grandchild is unique and special in their own way. Michele and I (Mommom and Papa) are truly blessed to love, support and spoil all of them.
I have a tradition of giving each of our grandchildren nicknames (Kenny, Kole, CSPAN, See-ann, Andrew Jackson, Whicker, Austintatious, Aubs, Lim or Gus, Ani Ani up on you and Ben-Jammin). Ok, maybe I didn’t come up with all those nicknames, but I did come up with B Tickle Fish (AKA Papa)
. Although it may change, Amelia’s nickname will be Ams, (or maybe #12). I’ve been wearing the shirt in the photo below with great pride.
All my children and grandchildren are in my daily prayers. Considering my past experiences with injuries and illness, I’m grateful for the time the good Lord allows me to continue to spend with all of them. I especially love sharing experiences related to the Triangle of Life – Faith, Family and Fitness, the foundation of my life. I’m hopeful this will be the legacy I leave with them someday far in the future. However, as they say, “Life is short”, so for now, I’m cherishing every moment I have with each of them. I enjoy and love all of them very much and It’s truly an honor to be their dad and Papa.
If you are blessed to be parents and grandparents, do you let your children and grandchildren know how much you love them and how proud you are of them? Do you ask God to guide and bless them as they grow?
Are you spending your limited time here on earth with the people you love?
