Week 205

Positive post Sunday, January 24, 2021- Week 205.

Over the past few years, I’ve shared a few articles from one of my favorite monthly reads Granted, by Adam Grant, a Ph.D. in Organizational Psychology at The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania and author.  Grant will be releasing a very timely new book on February 2nd titled “THINK AGAIN: The Power of Knowing What You Don’t Know”. Here is the link with some background: Think Again – Adam Grant.

I’m really looking forward to reading this book with an open mind as he examines the importance of learning to question our opinions and opening other people’s minds, both very important to help us achieve excellence at work and wisdom in life in these dynamic and polarized times we are living in.

The link above also includes a quiz with 10 questions that tease out your propensity to think like preachers, prosecutors, politicians, or scientists with explanations of the benefits and challenges of each.  I took the quiz and found it insightful on how I think about and question my own opinions as well as my ability to open other people’s minds.  I look forward to exploring this more when I read the book.

Are you open to questioning your own opinions?

How do you approach the opportunity to open other people’s minds?
