Week 196
Positive post Sunday, November 22, 2020- Week 196.
If I were to title this PPS it would be titled, Celebrating Thanksgiving During a Pandemic, or Celebrating Thanksgiving SAFELY During a Pandemic. Hopefully, we will all celebrate Thanksgiving in a responsible manner this year, while continuing the traditions of celebrating the many blessings we are Thankful for in our lives.
Regardless of your beliefs on the reality and severity of the pandemic, and there are many diverse beliefs, many of us have lost loved ones, and my thoughts and prayers are with the many families who have suffered a loss, especially the Kay family. Debbie Loftis-Kay, Michele and I are deeply saddened by the very recent loss of Steve. We are Thankful and blessed to have known him. May he be resting in peace.
I’m thankful for all the friends and family members that have gone before me. Life can be short, and I’m blessed to have had them in my life. After 2 life threatening experiences I certainly don’t take life for granted. I’m thankful to be alive and grateful to all those who have cared for and prayed for me. I am of course thankful for my family and friends, both present and past. My life would simply not be meaningful without them.
I’m also thankful for the many faith and health based organizations who have and continue to help us navigate through this pandemic by keeping us focused on our faith, health and service to others. I’m equally thankful and blessed to support many service and nonprofit organizations including Goodwill Southern California and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Both these nonprofit organizations change lives, one through the power of work and the other by leading the fight to cure cancer. The need for these and countless other nonprofit organizations is amplified during these unprecedented times. If you have been blessed to have benefited from a particular nonprofit, I encourage you to support them with your time, talent or treasure. They need our support now more than ever.
Who are you thankful for in your life? Have you let them know?
What nonprofit organization have you benefited from? Have you offered them your time, talent or treasure?
