Week 77
Positive post Sunday, August 5, 2018- Week 77.
I’m very excited! My wonderful wife, and community leader, Michele Rendler is running for the Redlands Unified School District Board of Trustees. We are very thankful for those who have encouraged her to run and the early support of many friends and community leaders and we welcome the support of all our friends and family as we begin her campaign in the next few weeks. For our friends and family in Redlands, the green area in the center of the attached map is the area within the RUSD boundaries Michele is running in. If you live in this area we respectfully ask for your vote and support and if you know anyone who lives in this area, please share this post with them.
Michele is a true servant leader who leads by example and understands the importance of serving and volunteering in the communities we live and work in to sustain the quality of life we enjoy and should never take for granted. She has a passion for education, is focused on the health and safety of the students so they can focus on their education and growth and supports the advancement of technology and curriculum that provide teachers the tools needed to educate our future workforce and leaders. She looks forward to sharing her extensive and relevant experience while serving our community on a broader level.
This has been one of Michele’s goals for quite some time and as you will see below, she has worked very hard within our community over the past several years, developing a very deep and broad portfolio of experience and relationships that will serve as a strong foundation and make her an informed and engaged Board member. I agree with the sentiment of several Redlands community volunteers and leaders who have worked with Michele who say, “it’s about time!” Michele will be an excellent Board member, as she has been deeply engaged in our community and in education for the past several years as noted below. Help us elect Michele to the Redlands Unified School District Board of Trustees.
Community leadership and service: Michele has served as President of the PTA at the elementary, middle and high school levels in Redlands as well as the overall Redlands Council of PTAs. She has also served on School Site Councils at the elementary, middle and high schools. Michele has taught religious education as a catechist. She is currently a member of the Redlands Educational Partnership Board, a current member and past Chairman of the Measure R and Measure J Oversight Committees which oversee the distribution of funds from school bond measures, and a life member of the Assistance League of Redlands. For the past 4 years Michele has been a member of the Local Control and Accountability Plan Advisory Committee that advises the Redlands Unified School District on the distribution of State funds for education. She has also been a member of the Redlands Bicycle Classic Organizing Committee for the past few years where she leads the school visit program with over 50 professional cyclists visiting over 30 schools promoting health, safety and fitness with over 8,000 students each year.
Oh, and did I mention she raised and supported our 5 children through the Redlands school system and is still active and supporting 5 of our 9 grandchildren who are currently attending Redlands schools.
Many of my Positive Posts have focused on the importance of serving and volunteering in the communities we live and work in. Michele has been a role model for all of us and I’m sure you will agree, she will make an excellent Trustee for Redlands Unified School District.
