Week 483

Positive Post Sunday, May 31, 2026…. Week 483. I don’t know about you, but in today’s divisive, fast‑paced, and cluttered world, I’ve found it increasingly difficult to quiet my mind long enough to enter the presence of God. That is, until I spent time reading Brother Lawrence’s classic, The Practice of the Presence of God.

Brother Lawrence reminds us that we meet the Lord most clearly when we clear away our inner clutter. Emptying our mind isn’t escaping life; it’s creating space for God to fill the places our worries usually occupy. When we release the noise, even for a moment, we return to what he called a “simple, loving attention to God.” In that quiet openness and stillness, His presence becomes not something we strain to find, but something we finally notice.

He also teaches that we can invite God into the ordinary moments of our day. Whether we’re working, resting, cooking, driving, riding our bikes😊, or simply breathing, we can remain conscious of His nearness. Every task becomes a place to enjoy Him. Every moment becomes a doorway to grace.

In a world that pulls us in a hundred directions, Brother Lawrence gently leads us back to the simplest truth: God is already here. We just need to make room for Him.
