Week 471
Positive Post Sunday, March 8, 2026…. Week 471. Michele and I recently watched the movie The Engagement Plan. A very wholesome film that reminded us how essential it is to let God guide our lives rather than trying to script every detail ourselves. This was the key theme in the movie, emphasized many times including a few moments when Proverbs 16:9 was referenced: “The human heart plans the way, but the Lord directs the steps.” That line in the movie, and Bible verse, resonates deeply with me.
It made me think about how often we map out our own plans with confidence, even good intentions, yet God gently redirects us toward something deeper, truer, and more aligned with His purpose. We see only the next step; He sees the entire path. And sometimes the most faithful thing we can do is loosen our grip on our own agenda and trust the One who knows the way home.
This week, I’m leaning into that truth. I’m asking God not just to bless my plans, but to shape them. Not just to walk with me, but to lead me. And I’m praying for the courage to follow wherever He directs; one step, one surrender, one quiet “yes” at a time.
