Week 453

Positive Post Sunday, November 2, 2025…. Week 453.  I recently finished another great read, “Practicing the Way”, by John Mark Comer. I encourage you to read this book, it’s transformational (thanks for the recommendation, Jay McCall!).

Comer challenges readers to move beyond passive participation and embrace the transformative path of apprenticeship. He emphasizes that following Jesus isn’t about blending into the crowd or merely attending church, it’s about becoming an apprentice, someone who actively learns, imitates, and lives out the teachings of the Rabbi (see page 16).

An apprentice doesn’t settle for admiration from a distance; they step into the dust of the Teacher’s footsteps, allowing every aspect of life to be reshaped by His way. This call invites us to intentionality, to spiritual formation that goes deeper than belief and grows into embodied practice. In a world full of spectators, the invitation is clear: be a disciple, an apprentice, who dares to follow and emulate the life of Jesus.

How are you deepening your spiritual formation as an apprentice of our Lord?

How are you accepting the invitation to shift from spectator to active participant in your spiritual life?
